Recently Apple entered into the augmented reality realm with its ARKit, that will be supported with the next iOS release (11) by all the devices running an A9 or A10 processor.
On the same market, even more recently Google has announced the release of its ARCore platform, initially supported by Google Pixel, Google Pixel Xl and Samsung Galaxy S8. In today’s news, LG has announced ARCore support also by its brand new LG V30. Those Android devices will also support Google’s virtual reality platform Google Daydream.
Reviewers and analysts are already in the middle of comparisons and 1-to-1 previews, with the usual sequel of supporters and detractors on both sides. In the next weeks we’ll follow news and reviews about various aspects of the two platforms.
